Who are we?

Patricia Fay

Title: Professor of Art

Hobbies: I seem to have misplaced them while developing this program...

Why are you leading this class: Through the generosity of Guyanese friends, I have had the great good fortune to travel twice, if briefly, to the Rupununi. It was simply astonishing, and I felt obliged to share that sense of wonder with my students.

Why are you taking this class: I saw this class as an opportunity to expand my sense of place in a world that I know only through television and the Internet.

Cydney Chasky

Major: Art

Minor: Interdisciplinary Studies

Hobbies: Yoga, reading, recycled / upcycled art and jewelry making, printmaking, photography, watching movies and experiencing all the aspects of nature.

Why are you taking this class: I am greatly interested in learning about cultures around the world and when this opportunity came up to go on this trip and participate in such a class, I jumped. Intertwining art with history and rich content of Amerindian culture and the indigenous spirituality is what fascinates me. It helps me to feel I am growing as an individual.

Knoel Blake

Lauren Sinett
